We The People Michigan (WTPM) is a 501(c)(3) that works to create and strengthen multi-racial, working-class community organizing infrastructure across Michigan in order to realize our shared vision for our state. We know that deep, place-based organizing is critical to defend and strengthen democracy in the state at all levels. This requires the cultivation of leaders who understand power and how to advance a proactive agenda via organizing tactics and infrastructure.
We believe our communities’ fates are linked and we must work together across cultural and physical divides to realize our vision. In order to achieve this, we focus on the development of collective capacity and aligned strategies in common decision-making arenas over aggregated individual action.
