Hello, Southgate residents and supporters! I was appointed to the Southgate City Council in August 2024 to fill the remaining term of a council vacancy. I'm running this November to continue my work to make local government more transparent and engaging for all. It would be an honor to be elected by the residents of Southgate to represent you in a full 4-year term.
My solution-focused leadership style is to ACT (Approachable, Collaborative, Transparent), and my three main areas of focus are:
Public Safety
Knowledge-share with Downriver communities and seek grant funding on the state and federal level to invest in our Fire, Police, and EMS through hiring, training, and technology upgrades.
Economic Growth/Small Business
Welcome new business owners, support existing small businesses, and work with the City and developers to draw services and attractions that enhance the quality of life for all Southgate residents now and in the future.
Community Engagement
Encourage all ages to participate in a city event at least once each season: Attend a city council meeting, enjoy a concert at Market Center Park, visit a small business, take your family to Heritage Days, play games at your nearest park, volunteer to read at the library, etc.
