Monaé Nickerson: Proven Leadership, Real Results, Community First.
For over 17 years, I have been committed to serving the Prince William County and Dumfries communities—not just with words, but with action. As a dedicated community steward, I have worked alongside local families, small businesses, and stakeholders to bring tangible results that directly impact our neighborhoods.
Since being elected to the Dumfries Town Council in 2018, I have fought for real, lasting change. True progress takes teamwork, dedication, and leadership that prioritizes people over politics. My record speaks for itself:
✅ Expungement Clinics – Giving residents a fresh start and a second chance at opportunity.
✅ Career Fairs Focused on Trade Careers – Expanding job pathways beyond traditional careers to include high-demand, skilled trades that strengthen our workforce.
✅ A New Business District – Bringing economic development directly to our community, ensuring local businesses can thrive right here in Dumfries.
✅ Fighting Food Insecurity – As Chair of the Prince William County Community Foundation, I have led efforts to expand food assistance programs and support local nonprofits in tackling hunger in our community. While food insecurity is a persistent challenge, I remain committed to providing resources and solutions that help families in need.
✅ Advocating for Dumfries on the National Stage – I proudly represent our community at the state and federal levels, serving on national and state committees that shape policies affecting our town’s future.
As I continue my service, I remain dedicated to leading with trust, transparency, and accountability. I believe in a Dumfries where every voice matters, every opportunity is accessible, and every decision is made with the community’s best interest at heart.
Together, we can build a stronger, more connected Dumfries—one that works for all of us.
Let’s keep moving forward. Join me. Get involved. Make an impact.
