As a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Michigan, born, raised, educated, and currently living on Detroit’s Eastside, the Heart of the District, I bring both rigorous economic training and lived experience in communities most essential to turnout and long-term success.

The economy has been the number one issue in the last three elections. Yet, despite creating the two largest economic crises in modern history, Republicans are trusted over Democrats on the economy by 12 percentage points.  Since 1967, nearly $31 trillion has been spent on the War on Poverty, while poverty remains near 37 percent in Detroit and approaches 80 percent on the Eastside. Voters do not question Democratic values—they question our competency.

My platform advances market-based, fiscally responsible social programs that shift policy from Tax and Spend to Tax and Lend; that prioritize investment over consumption; and that build household wealth while strengthening local economies.
