I never imagined running for office. When I was an administrator in Detroit Public Schools, I thought I was preparing to become a superintendent. Then COVID hit, bringing grief and exposing what decades of disinvestment had done to our children, families, and seniors. In that crisis, we finally saw what real investment looks like. Resources that should have always been there. And when the crisis ended, the investment ended too, and our community was asked to make do with less once again.

That was my turning point. I’m running because I refuse to accept a system that shortchanges our children and our community. Your support will help us build a Detroit where every child and family can rise.
