NCFDV seeks funding to expand and sustain its current programs that empower survivors of domestic violence through education, self-care, and restorative support.
Education & Career Advancement
- In 2024, NCFDV had 60 graduates from the free Google Career Courses and received 20 requests for admission application fee assistance.
- The average cost for Google Courses is $49 per month (6 month course completion) and the average cost for admission application fee is $50, NCFDV aims to increase support to paying the application fees of 100 survivors.
Cosmetic Restoration for Survivors
- NCFDV provides a restricted gift to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry’s “Give Back a Smile” program to assist survivors with dental restoration.
- Currently, we support 2 applicants per state in the top 20 states, the application fee is $20 per survivor.
- NCFDV seeks to increase assistance to assisting 100 survivors: 5 applicants per state.
Annual Empowerment Tea
- Currently NCFDV offers this half-day event to 50 survivors through workshops on financial literacy, workplace decorum, entrepreneurship, and personal development.
- The event costs $2,000, and NCFDV seeks funding to offer this event and services 4 times a year.
Service Expansion – Mental Health Counseling
- Partner with Georgia based Therapy for Black Girls, an online platform dedicated to supporting the mental wellness of Black women and girls. The cost of therapy is $25 per month ($300 annually) per survivor. NCFDV wishes to pay the fees for 25 survivors.
- Talk Space is dedicated to all ethnicities. The cost of therapy is $99 a week. NCFDV wishes to pay the fees for 15 survivors for 9 sessions.
