Sheila Gunn-Ward is a longtime community advocate, real estate and operations professional, and dedicated leader committed to improving the quality of life throughout Chicago’s 7th Ward.


With years of experience working directly with residents, families, businesses, and community organizations, Sheila understands the everyday challenges facing neighborhoods across South Shore, South Chicago, South Deering, and Calumet Heights.


As the daughter of a retired Local 399 Operating Engineer for the City of Chicago, wife of a retired Chicago Police Officer, and daughter of a United States Marine Corps veteran, Sheila was raised on the values of hard work, service, discipline, and community.


Sheila believes in safer neighborhoods, youth opportunities, economic development, neighborhood beautification, stronger city services, and bringing real transparency and accessibility back to local leadership. Her campaign is focused on putting residents first and creating a stronger future for every family in the 7th Ward.

Contribution rules

  1. I am at least eighteen years old.
  2. This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
  3. I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
  4. I understand that by ordinance of the City of Chicago, no lobbyist registered with the Board of Ethics, or person who has done business with City within the preceding four reporting years, or person who is seeking to do business with the City, shall contribute over $1,500 during a calendar year. This includes persons doing or seeking to do business with the: City of Chicago, Chicago Transit Authority, Board of Education, Chicago Park District, Chicago City Colleges, Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, Chicago Housing Authority, or Public Building Commission.
Contributions are not tax deductible. By contributing, you confirm that the funds are your own, are not being provided by another person or entity, and that you are not a federal contractor. Contributions are subject to applicable state and local laws. Paid for by Sheila For The 7th Ward.
