For 25+ years, Rooted in Community (RIC) has been gathering youth from all over the country at our Summer Youth Summit to engage in conversations and actions around food, community, and justice.
During our summer gathering we share stories, models, expertise, skills, and experiences. We partner with the local community to host a Day of Action; working to build capacity on local issues.
RIC has continued for this long because of our commitment to young people, strong relationships, and food system change.
The RIC Advisory Team is comprised of two super part-time staff, and nine volunteers. With our return after the pandemic forced a hiatus, we triumphantly returned to Albuquerque in July, 2025 for the Youth Summit. It was also the 10-year anniversary of the first time Albuquerque, New Mexico hosted.
To help reduce barriers for people across the country to participate, we need your help to offset their cost to participate. The more money we raise, the less the youth and their adult allies have to raise to attend.
