Being born and raised in Richmond, California the home of the Chevron Refinery and witnessing first hand the many fires and accidents at the Chevron Refinery over my 51+ years of living here has led me to become a food, social, environmental and climate justice activist.
I believe we are at a critical moment in the Climate Movement where fence line communities like Richmond could lead the way by piloting new policies and initiatives meant to set a powerful example and help move the country more concerted towards the Just Transition we need.
I come from a proud family who has been involved with public service for many generations. Now, in this generation, I am here to work for Richmond.
I know we need to create more living wage jobs, build more affordable housing, create transitional housing to help people off the streets, work together with WCCUSD to improve our schools, improve traffic safety, decrease illegal dumping, and make real public safety a top priority. We also need to invest in building a more resilient local economy that is not dependent on the fossil fuel industry.
With over 20 years of experience, I know what it takes to find and develop solutions, navigate complicated governmental state and local agencies, and work together with city staff, council members, community organizations, and residents to get things done.
A contribution to the campaign to Re-elect Doria Robinson is a VOTE a powerful vote for a revitalized Richmond, CA.
