Luanne Peterpaul, Esq. was elected to the New Jersey Assembly in 2023 as the first out lesbian in the state legislature. Assemblywoman Peterpaul was formerly the chair at Garden State Equality, Assemblywoman Peterpaul has worked in a career of service to the community as an assistant county prosecutor, municipal court judge and former chair at Garden State Equality, and is a practicing attorney. A strong advocate for equality and justice, she has delivered results for Monmouth County both as an attorney and legislator. Peterpaul holds a J.D. from Seton Hall Law and a bachelor’s from Duquesne University. She currently lives in Long Branch with her wife Robin, her dog, and two rescue cats.
