"I never fancied myself a politician. Congress unleashed disastrous policies on our region, and Congress is where we must fight.”
— Pete Barlow
There is no question that something is wrong in Congress. Every day the Republican majority cedes its Constitutional authority to Trump's White House.
So, I quit my job at FEMA to take on Ben Cline, who has been a cheerleader for the disasters landing on the people of Virginia's Sixth District.
No one voted to cut rural healthcare to pay for billionaires tax cuts. But Ben did. No one wanted tariffs to raise prices and reduce economic stability. Not farmers. Not small businesses. Not consumers. But Ben did. To add insult to injury he refuses to hold a town hall where he would certainly be held accountable by the people paying the costs for his reckless cheerleading.
I am listening. I will be driving my truck around the district inviting everyone to tell me what they need and want from Washington. I will, of course, also ask them to send me to Congress where I pledge to represent them and not big money.
Thank you for supporting this effort to bring the voice of the people back to Congress where it belongs.
