Patrick Hynes is a life-long Democrat and experienced property tax professional. Assessor Hynes brings more than thirty years experience in property tax assessments to his role as Assessor.


Currently serving the taxpayers of Lyons township, Assessor Hynes was recently awarded the 2025 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Illinois Property Assessment Institute for his work advocating for taxpayers.


As Cook County Assessor, Patrick will ensure Cook County taxpayers receive a fair, accurate and predictable property tax system with fewer errors and more accessibility.
