My name is Patrick Hynes. I’m running for Cook County Assessor because homeowners, renters, and businesses deserve fair, accurate assessments.


Cook County taxpayers have suffered under a broken system—unpredictable tax increases and assessments that bear little connection to actual market conditions.

Cook County deserves an Assessor who brings professionalism, fairness, and a commitment to real solutions. Taxpayers need someone who is accessible, listens to concerns, and leads with integrity—not politics. I believe the role of Assessor is about service, not headlines—and it’s time to rebuild public trust in the system.

Patrick Hynes is an experienced property tax professional who recently received the Cook County Democratic Party endorsement over the incumbent.


Pat brings more than thirty years experience to his current role as Lyons Township Assessor. Assessor Hynes was recently awarded the 2025 Outstanding Achievement Award by the Illinois Property Assessment Institute for his work advocating for taxpayers.
