Pennsylvania United is building a sustainable, multi-racial, multi-generational poor and working peoples movement that unites all of us against those who profit from our struggles. We are working to create an equitable government that includes and benefits all of us, not just the wealthy few.
To achieve a better future, we must invest in movement candidates in urban strongholds as well as rural communities, from members of Congress to local city councils. PA United has a strong track record of organizing across Western and Central PA with over 20 of our members currently sitting in office, including US Congresswoman Summer Lee, Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato, and Meadville Mayor Jaime Kinder.
Our members in office have passed policies that hold slumlords accountable such as mandatory residential inspection programs and tenant protections from retaliation; remunicipalized critical services - like ambulances in Crawford County - to ensure they are accountable to the public; and invested millions to decarbonize public housing using union labor and partnering with the trades to expand apprenticeship programs for community members to have access to stable, good-paying jobs. And this is just the start!
Your contribution will go towards training and supporting movement leaders as they run for office, developing people-centered policy platforms, and communicating those priorities through media, field, and other formats.
