I am asking for your direct financial support today, because we have a specific, innovative solution to what I've identified as the biggest challenges facing New Hampshire Democrats.

Please read on to learn what we've identified as the fundamental problems needing to be solves - and the specific solutions (where we need your financial support to fully implement) we're creating in response.

Identifying the Problems

Following the disappointment of the 2024 elections, I spent much of the next eight months analyzing data, and leading dozens of conversations with over 2,000 New Hampshire Democratic activists, seeking to understand:

1) What happened?

2) Why did it happen?

3) How do Democrats build durable, governing majorities in New Hampshire?

By the spring of 2025, many of the answers had become clear:

  • Low-engagement voters - who used to lean Democratic - have sharply moved towards the GOP. This is a national problem, but as we saw in the surprisingly close 2024 presidential results in NH, and the eroding party registration numbers, it is increasingly becoming a problem here, too.
  • High-engagement voters - who have moved towards Democrats over the past 15 years - are definitely voting for our federal candidates in predictable ways. The problem? More than arguably any state in the country, high-engagement voters are splitting their votes, choosing Republicans at the state level.
  • When it comes to earning the support of these two types of voters, Democrats are broadly failing to prioritize the issues that matter most to these voters, in the places where they are likely to receive those messages, using emotionally-resonant language that connects specifically with different kinds of key voters. Too often, high-engagement Democrats are speaking to all voters in the ways that they speak to each other.
  • Our lack of a strong state-level Democratic brand is hurting our tickets from top to bottom. We need to be working off common language, strategy, and priorities. Voters have said throughout 2025 that they are not in love with the GOP brand...but they dislike the Democratic brand at least as much.

Creating a Solution

Starting this spring, my team set out to do something about it. Over the last several months, we have collectively spent a few thousand hours developing a statewide program to equip leaders and activists with the messaging they told us they needed, with a unified voice to communicate our vision and contrast it with our opposition's record.

Built for trusted messengers in every community, it offers a content library tailored for each town, with materials you can use for every kind of outreach - from digital ads, emails and social media to mailings, postcards, text messaging, letters to the editor, and traditional press.

Simply put, the program we've built is designed to:

  • Communicate our values in persuasive, emotionally resonant ways
  • Hold Republicans accountable for harmful votes
  • Connect with voters on the issues that matter most to them

Where We Need Your Help

We've got a budget to pay for the talent, time, and technology need to take this statewide: $400,000 by Election Day 2026.

Whether it is $25, $100, $1,000 or more, every contribution is directly making a difference in allowing us to focus on training activists statewide, and expanding the size, scope, and sophistication of our content library.

If we didn't believe so strongly in the potential impact of what we're building, we would not be investing thousands of hours of our time. Every time we receive a contribution of any amount, it inspires us to push forward.

Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Steve
