Let's rally behind an inspiring candidate: Mo Seifeldein. This is more than just a donation; it’s an opportunity to invest in the future of our community and ensure our voices are heard and represented in Congress.
Mohamed 'Mo' Seifeldein’s story is one of resilience, service, and principled leadership. The son of Sudanese refugees, Mo was raised in a working-class immigrant household where he, his mother, and his siblings all worked at McDonald's just to make ends meet. From an early age, he understood that the American Dream is built on both hope and hustle, and that far too many families are shut out of it.
Mo was educated in Fairfax, built a community and served in Alexandria, and worked to protect workers' rights in Arlington. His journey across Northern Virginia isn’t just a resume, it’s a lived experience. This district is his home, his community, and now, his cause.
In 2018, Mo became the first Muslim and Sudanese-American elected to the Alexandria City Council, where George Washington once served. There, he championed bold, progressive reforms, expanding mental health access, advancing public safety and housing protections, fighting for workers' rights, and passing environmental protections. Mo never forgot where he came from or who he was fighting for.
A former federal attorney at the U.S. Department of Labor, Mo recently resigned in protest of Trump-era policies that undermined both the civil service and our democracy. He chose principle over comfort, just as he always has. Before his federal service, Mo worked as a court-appointed attorney, supported small business owners, volunteered with local legal aid, and mentored students from underserved communities. He also served on nonprofit boards focused on expanding healthcare access in Sudan.
Now, with our country at a crossroads, Mo is running for Congress to bring change and a fighting spirit to Virginia’s 8th District. He’s pushing for commonsense policies supported by the majority of Americans; policies that make doctors, housing, and groceries more affordable and accessible for all.
Mo believes in the power of the next generation of leaders: grounded in lived experience, guided by principle, and unafraid to challenge the status quo. He’s a doer, an advocate, and a neighbor with a fresh vision for what’s possible.
If you want leadership that fights for you, because it comes from you, then it’s time to Go With Mo.
