The 2026 Michigan Democratic Senate primary represents one of the most consequential races for the party's future. With Senator Gary Peters retiring and Republicans holding a 53-47 Senate majority, Democrats need a net gain of four seats to win a majority in 2026, and losing Michigan could make this impossible.
