Defend What We Have - Build What We Need!

David McMahon is a father, labor activist, and community organizer running to represent Norristown’s 2nd District on the Norristown Municipal Council.

In 2020, David co-founded Norristown Opposes Privatization Efforts (NOPE), a grassroots organization that activated thousands of Norristonians whose collective power successfully stood up to corporate greed, preventing the sale of Norristown’s sewer system to private corporation Aqua PA and saving residents hundreds of dollars each year in would-be sewer rate-hikes.

Based on his experience with NOPE, David’s campaign is committed to growing community power and democratic accountability in Norristown. His political vision centers on tenants’ rights, robust public education, safe and reliable infrastructure, genuine public safety, and broader justice for working people, immigrants, and people of color. David is committed to engaging Norristown residents in greater democratic participation and meaningful input in the governance of the municipality.
