I’m Sheriff Garry L. McFadden, I’ve recognized that our system has failed many of our citizens, especially as it relates to mental health, substance abuse, re-entry, and cycles of violence. However, with established community partnerships we’ve proven change is possible.
As your Sheriff, I’ve implemented and created the following initiatives: the first mental health pod located inside of a detention center, strengthened re-entry programs, and the first post-release center located inside a (North Carolina) detention
