Eight families in San Juan are at risk of being pushed out of their homes. Rents are rising because landlords are comparing long-term housing to Airbnb rates. We’re here to disrupt that logic—and that’s why La Base Comunitaria was born.
La Base is more than a building, it’s a vision:

We’re raising $50,000 right now to secure the property before it’s lost to developers. This is just the beginning of a larger fight to renovate and protect it for generations to come.
La Base is where bomba becomes palos, and reggaetón blends into dembow. It’s where Puerto Ricans, Dominicans, and Afro-Caribbean communities gather, grow food, share knowledge, and keep the lights on when the grid fails.
