I’m Karen Battaglia, and I’m running for State Senate to bring real-life experience and compassion to Springfield.
I’m not a typical politician. I’m a nurse, a mom, a daughter, and a proud grandmother. I’ve lived the challenges that so many in our community face every day, and I’ve seen how the decisions made in our Capitol affect our lives.
As an emergency and trauma nurse, I’ve cared for people during their most vulnerable moments, I’ve stood on the frontlines with healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and I’ve guided nursing students through unprecedented times. I’ve cared for aging parents while trying to raise a family, and I intimately understand the importance of protecting health insurance coverage for people with pre-existing conditions.
I’m running for State Senate because I believe every person in the 32nd District deserves a safe and healthy community that is prepared for the future, whether you are raising a child, caring for a parent or aging with dignity.
