Government can be a positive force for change and progress, but only when it’s accountable, ethical, responsive and transparent. These are my core values, and I’ll make sure they're at the center of ANC 2A’s work on important community matters like the opening of the Aston bridge housing facility, the redevelopment of the Francis sports complex and dog park, and the upcoming rewrite of the District’s Comprehensive Plan.
I’ll also pursue common-sense ANC reforms aimed at increasing public trust and engagement, like bringing Commission meetings back to the West End Library (while also keeping a Zoom option available), and passing a rule to require Commissioners to submit resolutions for public review at least seven days before consideration.
Our community is vibrant, diverse and one of the best places to live in the city. But for too long, ANC 2A has been mired in toxicity and dysfunction. While serving as Chairperson, I worked hard to break that cycle and set a new standard of expectations. But there’s more to do. I’m excited to get back to work and continue building on that progress, so that this amazing community has a Commission it’s proud of.
