I am a single mom to a now 19-year-old college freshman at Eastern Illinois University. I have been a registered nurse for the past 30 years. I have, in the past, struggled with paying bills each month and living paycheck to paycheck. I have been unemployed, had SNAP benefits, and know the struggle of trying to find employment. And, yet through all of that, I felt a need for service to my community and state, which I still feel today.
I want to bring money back to the heart of Illinois as it will allow our communities to do the necessary:
- Infrastructure upgrades or replacement
- Emergency management communications upgrade
- affordable housing
- Farming assistance
- And many more needed improvements
