
Patricia is a lifelong resident of Peekskill, and an advocate for labor, working families, youth, and seniors.
Being mindful of the community, Patricia understands the importance of keeping taxes low, providing quality city services, attracting industries and jobs that provide a living wage, and retaining and attracting young families to Peekskill. Since her tenure on the council, Patricia was responsible for introducing and passing two pieces of legislation. The Apprenticeship Legislation and Project Labor Agreement Legislation.
She is the Council’s liaison to the Senior’s, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met. You will find Patricia on any given day at the Senior Center interacting with our Seniors. You might even catch her at the piano having sing-a-longs with our Peekskill Seniors.
She also serves as the council liaison to the Field Library Board and is a strong advocate for our Peekskill Schools. Strong schools make for a strong city. Being a graduate of the Peekskill Schools, Patricia is one of the school district’s biggest cheerleaders.
Patricia was an educator for 32 years and taught at George Washington Elementary School in the Lakeland School District. She was also a union representative for the Lakeland Federation of Teachers for 29 years.
Patricia is first generation born in Peekskill to Patsy and Elsa Salvate, who emigrated from Italy for a better life. They instilled in her the importance of hard work and community.
Patricia believes that celebrating who we are and where we came from while embracing our differences strengthens the fabric of the community.
Patricia is running for re-election for her council seat along with this terrific slate of candidates Vivian McKenzie for Mayor, Kathie Talbot, and Brian Fasset for council.
