I came to this country from Kabul, Afghanistan with nothing — and America gave me everything. I served this nation as a military linguist/ advisor in a war zone because I knew what life under Taliban oppression can be. Taught language and operation awareness to U.S. Navy Seals and thousands of other members of the US armed forces because I wanted each and every one of them to win hearts in minds in places like Afghanistan while they fought terrorism and safely return home to their families. I trained as a medical scientist, founded a health nonprofit to help kids with congenital heart defects, built businesses from scratch, . Now I am running for Congress in California’s 7th District — not because a party asked me to, not because donors recruited me, but because the single mother in Meadowview who can’t make rent, the veteran in Sacramento waiting months on a VA claim, the Gen Z student who can’t access the mental healthcare they desperately need, and the thousands of working individuals that Congress has completely forgotten deserve someone who will fight for them with everything he has. I take zero corporate PAC money, AIPAC's bloody money or dark money. I am not a party insider. I am not anyone’s puppet. I am an outsider, an immigrant, a scientist, and a Centrist Democrat who will work with anyone — including across the aisle — to deliver real results for every American and every community in this district.
My opponent has $785,000 — seventy percent of it from corporate PACs including AIPAC. She takes money from AIPAC to win an election while she sends your hard earned tax dollars to fund the largest terrorist organization, the IDF to kill innocent children and civilians. Her actions doesn't just hurt the people of middle east and Gaza. It also hurts innocent Jews in the west as attacks on synagogues in Canada, Europe and US has been increasing more and more. But I have something she will never have: a campaign built entirely by the people it serves. But this race comes down to the next few weeks before the June 2 primary, and every single dollar determines whether one more door gets knocked, one more flyer gets printed, one more family in Lodi or Placerville or Elk Grove learns that for the first time in forty-seven years they have a real choice. Someone who will be loyal to his constituents, not to a party. Your ten dollars, your twenty-five, your fifty — that is not just a donation. It is your declaration that a first generation Afghan-American immigrant who served this country in uniform, who speaks five languages, who has never taken a cent from a corporation, or the Israeli lobby, and who built this campaign from absolutely nothing deserves a seat at the table. From Surviving to Thriving is not just my slogan — it is the story of my life, and it is the promise I am making to every person in CA-7. I need your help to keep it. I am an outsider. Not a part of the establishment machine. Not a part of the progressive machine.
