Located on the East Side of Manhattan, ERID is the official Democratic organization for New York's 74th Assembly District, Parts B & D, which includes the neighborhoods of Union Square, Gramercy, Flatiron, Kips Bay, Murray Hill, Tudor City, Turtle Bay, and parts of Midtown East. However, our members and donors come from all parts of Manhattan and places beyond!

Our Purpose:

• Register and activate Democratic voters on Manhattan's East Side
• Identify and elect strong political and judicial candidates
• Advocate to our county and state party leaders for the issues our neighbors care about
• Bring neighbors together for educational and social activities

Finding the right candidates — from local offices right up to the President — and getting them elected is one of our prime concerns. If you care about who is running the city, state, and federal governments, getting involved in your local political club is the place to start. And we are active — all year — not just at election time. We have committees working on issues of community and political concern. You will find us at political events, at the Community Board, at community events, and even on a street corner! 

The basic $25 annual membership affords you the following benefits:

• Support for Democratic causes and progressive values;
• Ability to influence policy and engage in shaping the Democratic Party's platform;
• Direct engagement with the political process in New York;
• Eligibility to vote for Club endorsements, on Club resolutions, and in other Club votes (applicable to voting members only);
• Eligibility to run for Club positions, judicial delegate, and county committee;
• Ability to participate in Club community volunteer events;
• Invitations to the Club's annual Winter Party and annual fundraiser Brunch;
• Complementary or discounted admission to various Club events, including the Winter Party (applicable to voting members only);
• Discounted admission to the annual fundraiser Brunch (applicable to voting members only).
