Contributions to Defend the Vote are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Defend the Vote is a “PAC with Non-Contribution Account” – commonly known as a “Hybrid PAC” – registered with the Federal Election Commission and various state and local campaign finance regulators as needed. Defend the Vote has a contribution account subject to federal limits and source restrictions and an independent expenditure account that can accept unlimited contributions from individuals, PACs, corporations and unions.
The first $5,000 per person, per calendar year donated to Defend the Vote will be deposited in our contribution account. Any additional funds donated by an individual in the same calendar year will be deposited in our independent expenditure account. There is no individual donor limit on what may be donated to that account.
