Here's the deal.
- The GOP state legislature gerrymandered our county's districts into oblivion, despite 71% of our county voting to have representative maps
- District 2 has an unelected appointee, and Watauga has a commission of five Republicans voting 5-0 for 299 out of 300 votes in 2025
Democrats are stuck in the minority (for now), so we need someone who will earn your vote, win the general election, push for proposals that matter, and represent everyone in our district. What has worked isn't working, and we need someone whose experience and perspective is fresh, whose values represent the people in our district, and whose experience isn't one of do-nothing, status quo votes.
Let's pay our teachers more. Let's keep our rivers clean. Let's make housing and childcare affordable. Let's build bridges between the town and county.
