I’m Darren McAuley — Air Force Colonel, Flight Surgeon, and a proud husband and father of three.

Now, I’m running for Congress in Florida’s 15th District — the most competitive flip opportunity in the state. 

The stakes could not be higher. Laurel Lee voted to cut healthcare for 50,000 Central Floridians to give tax breaks to big corporations. She slashed billions from FEMA just as Hurricane Helene approached. She helped dismantle voting rights.

I joined the Air National Guard at age 24. After the towers fell, I knew this was where I needed to be — to be part of something bigger than myself, and keep our country safe. 

 

I served six tours of duty, including two in Iraq. I set up mobile hospitals during the pandemic and deployed to nursing homes where other medical staff refused to go. As Florida’s Air Surgeon, I help to coordinate our state’s response when hurricanes and natural disasters strike. Wherever someone needs help — that’s where I go.

 

It doesn’t matter what party you belong to, or whether there are cameras there. No tweets, no tantrums. Just service, sacrifice, and love of country.

What if we had a Congress like that? Imagine what we could get done. We could protect Medicaid and Medicare. Stop the price gouging of Florida families. Ensure our veterans get the support they need and the benefits they’ve earned. And keep us from getting taken for a ride by the elite insiders with the money and the power.
