Is Lansing better off than it was EIGHT years ago? Was EIGHT years too little time for Schor to make it so, if that were really his intent?
If your answers are NO, than please:
Help me end Lansing's declining streets, sidewalks, schools, & parks?
Is it too much to expect to have our side streets plowed & cleaned more than a mere twice yearly?
Help me decrease costs, and insure money budgeted for the basic jobs needed to run our city are actually spent filling those jobs?
Help me work towards city tax reform that doesn't unfairly burden homeowners instead of the wealthy?
Help me decrease crime while increasing resident's confidence in LPD's fairness?
Help me work towards repairing present housing stock, keeping residents in place, instead of red-tagging?
Help me towards increasing housing stock for not only people above Lansing's median income of $33k, but those below it, as well?
Help me move towards doing away with "off-year" Lansing elections that waste needed money, and, due to voter apathy, leave us saddled with city officials elected by only 15% of voters?
Help me work towards reforming the City Council by limiting the number of "at large" members to ONE, and assigning the other SIX to specific Wards, increasing their accountability to their specific neighborhoods; AND let that "at large" member be the runner-up in the mayoral race, assuring the Council does not end up being a "rubber stamp" for any Mayor given to interfering in the election of City Council members. Should the mayoral runner-up decline, let the the "at-large" member be the third-runner up from the mayoral primary.
