Contribution rules
- I am a U.S. citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident (i.e., green card holder).
- This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
- I am at least eighteen years old.
- I am not a federal contractor.
- I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.
Contributions and gifts to Blue Senate Candidate Fund are not tax deductible.
Contributions to Blue Senate Candidate Fund will be allocated as follows:
The first $21,000 of each contribution from a person and the first $30,000 from a multicandidate committee (“PAC”) will be allocated evenly, up to the legal limits, between Jon Ossoff for Senate, Cooper for North Carolina, and Friends of Sherrod Brown (each a “Candidate”). The first $3,500 of a person’s contribution and $5,000 of a PAC’s contribution to each Candidate will be designated for the primary election; the next $3,500/$5,000 to each Candidate will be designated for the general election. However, if a Candidate’s primary election has already occurred, the first $3,500/$5,000 to that Candidate will be allocated for use in the Candidate’s general election. The next $44,300 of each contribution from a person and $15,000 from a PAC will be allocated to the DSCC general account. The next $265,800 from a person and $90,000 from a PAC will be allocated to the DSCC’s headquarters fund or voter protection/legal defense fund, up to the legal limits. The amount of a contribution allocated between the Candidates will be reduced to remove a Candidate’s primary limit once their primary election occurs.
A contributor may designate his or her contribution for a particular participant. The allocation formula above may change if following it would result in an excessive contribution.
