Ammar has a proven record in the new CA-48. He previously ran in the San Diego and Temecula portion of the district against Duncan Hunter, earning 48.3 percent of the vote. In his race against Darrell Issa, Ammar carried the key battleground cities of San Marcos and Escondido—both now part of CA-48. Winning Palm Springs won’t be enough to win the most competitive district in California, the path to victory runs directly through the San Diego areas of San Marcos and Escondido. Ammar is the only candidate with a demonstrated track record of winning in red San Diego County territory.
