I am Alexandria Piland, a mom, a daughter, Latina, and a retired teacher. I am pro-labor unions, pro choice, pro LGBTQIA+ rights, pro environment, pro affordability, and pro citizens of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. I have owned two small businesses, worked extra jobs to make ends meet, just like many others in our community. 

Rio Rancho has lower crime and better schools than anywhere in our state, but together we can achieve so much more. This campaign isn’t about right versus left—it’s about top to bottom. It’s about lifting everyone up, right where they are and where they’ve been placed here in Rio Rancho, and making sure opportunity reaches every corner of our city.

I am running to make sure Rio Rancho is affordable for our families and for our children, so they can grow up here and stay here—not be forced to move away because they can’t afford a house or even an apartment.

I’m running to embrace all members of our community and to help Rio Rancho rise to its full potential—together.
